Hart, Admiral Thomas C.

Hart, Admiral Thomas C. (1877–1971),commander of US Asiatic fleet based at Manila from 1939. In January 1942, by which time his fleet had withdrawn to the Netherlands East Indies, he was appointed ABDA Command's naval commander (known as ABDAFLOAT) but was replaced the following month by Vice-Admiral C. Helfrich of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
