Gammon bomb

Gammon bomb, British hand grenade (no. 82) used primarily by British airborne forces, one of whose members, named Gammon, invented it. It was simply a bag with a detonator which was usually filled with plastic explosive and its great advantage for paratroopers, who were limited in what they could carry, was that the filling could be tailored to suit the task in hand.See also grenades.
