ETOUSA

ETOUSA (European Theatre of Operations, United States Army) was the administrative HQ for the build-up of US troops in the UK (BOLERO). Initially commanded by Maj-General Eisenhower, it was later commanded by Lt-General Frank Andrews and, after he had been killed in an air crash, by Lt-General Devers. In January 1944 ETOUSA and the HQ of the US Services of Supply were amalgamated under the latter's commanding general, Lt-General John Lee, who also became deputy theatre commander for supply and administration.
