Czech–Soviet Treaty of Alliance

Czech–Soviet Treaty of Alliance, concluded in July 1941 when the Soviet government recognized the Czech government-in-exile of Beneš and, along with the UK and USA, conferred on Czechoslovakia the status of an Allied fighting power. A military agreement followed in September 1941 in which the Soviet government granted funds to arm and maintain Colonel Svoboda's Czech forces in the USSR. A treaty of friendship, mutual assistance, and post-war co-operation was also concluded in December 1943.
