Burcorps

Burcorps, contraction of Burma Corps, which was formed on 19 March 1942 by the British C-in-C Burma, Alexander. It comprised nearly all the British forces fighting the Japanese in the Burma campaign: the 1st Burma Division, 17th Indian Division, and 7th Armoured Brigade and was commanded by Slim. After it escaped into India it became part of 4th Corps.
