Lawrence, Josephine

Lawrence, Josephine (1890–1978), New Jersey‐born author of popular fiction, beginning in 1922 for children, but later for adults, mainly women, on various contemporary domestic and social issues. Her 33 novels include If I Had Four Apples (1935), But You Are Young (1940), There Is Today (1942), Double Wedding Ring (1946), The Pleasant Morning Light (1948), My Heart Shall Not Fear (1949), Hearts Do Not Break (1960), Not a Cloud in the Sky (1964), Retreat with Honor (1973), and Under One Roof (1975).
