Gerontion, poem by T.S. Eliot, published in his Poems (1920), presents the fragmented thoughts of “an old man in a dry month,” who without vital experience of faith is representative of the inanition of modern life and who, by means of images and allusions, yet shows his longing for spiritual rebirth and the expression of emotion.
