Fox, William Price

Fox, William Price (1926–), Illinois‐born author, reared in South Carolina, the setting for his stories collected in Southern Fried (1962) and Southern Fried Plus Six (1968) and his novel Moonshine Light, Moonshine Bright (1967), the salty tale of two teenaged boys involved in a variety of skulduggery. Ruby Red (1971), another novel, whose setting is extended to Nashville, presents the seamy life of girls trying to get into country‐singer show business. Still another, Dixiana Moon (1981), is about the antic adventures of a young man in show business. Dr. Golf (1963) collects his humorous articles on golf, and Chitlin Strut and Other Madrigals assembles 13 of his stories.
