Fountainhead, The

Fountainhead, The, novel by Ayn Rand, published in 1943. It celebrates the achievements of an architect (presumably suggested by Frank Lloyd Wright) who is fiercely independent in pursuing his own ideas of design and who is therefore an example of the author's concept of Objectivism, which lauds individualism and “rational self‐interest.”
