Evergreen Review (1957–73), literary magazine, a quarterly to 1959, thereafter a bimonthly. Edited by Barney Rossett of Grove Press (New York City), it published fiction, poetry, drama, criticism, interviews, and occasional photo portfolios, emphasizing the avant‐garde and foreign authors. In the 1970s it gave much attention to liberal political commentary, civil liberties, and counterculture.
