Davidson, Donald [Grady] (1893–1968).Tennessee Author, professor at Vanderbilt University was one of the exponents of regionalism who founded The Fugitive and contributed to the group's symposia. His own books include The Tall Men (1927), a blank‐verse poem; The Attack on Leviathan (1938), essays opposing centralization of political and economic power in the North; Lee in the Mountains (1938), short narrative poems on Southern heroes; The Tennessee (2 vols., 1946–48), a history of the river and valley; Still Rebels, Still Yankees (1957), essays; Southern Writers in the Modern World (1958); The Long Street (1961), poems written over a long period of time; and The Spyglass (1963), early essays. His collected Poems appeared in 1966 and his correspondence with Allen Tate in 1974.
