Beard, Mary R(itter)

Beard, Mary R[itter] (1876–1958), is known for historical works written with her husband, Charles A. Beard, and for her work in the woman suffrage and labor movements. Her works include A Short History of the American Labor Movement (1920, revised 1925), On Understanding Women (1931), America Through Women's Eyes (1933), Woman: Co‐Maker of History (1940), Woman as a Force in History (1946), and The Making of Charles A. Beard (1955).
