posting A contribution to a
NEWSGROUP. For example the user of a newsgroup devoted to
BROWSERS may make a posting about some of the problems that he or she has encountered with the latest version of a particular browser. Also known as an
ARTICLE. Users of a newsgroup can make comments on a posting, and these are known as
FOLLOW-UP postings. A posting with a series of follow-up postings are collectively known as a
THREAD.
