first-generation Web site WEB SITES which emerged just after WORLD WIDE WEB technology such as MOSAIC started being made generally available. Such sites are characterized by large amounts of text in a single FONT, few if any graphics, no animation, and no FORMS PROCESSING. Effectively the pages found on a first-generation Web site looked very much like their paper equivalents.
