email address An email address consists of two components: the name of the recipient and the DOMAIN with which they are associated. The name must be a unique name within the domain and the two components are separated by an @ character. So, for example, the email address d.king@flyhigh.co.uk refers to the user d.king who is registered at the domain flyhigh.co.uk.
