World Wide Web Worm

World Wide Web Worm One of the first indexing programs. It was developed in 1994 by Oliver McBryan and was used to catalogue CONTENT on the WORLD WIDE WEB. Many of the original ideas behind this program have survived in more modern WORMS currently found on the Internet. It is sometimes confused with the INTERNET WORM, a virus which was unleashed into the Internet in the 1980s.
