Internet draft An Internet standards document originated by the INTERNET ENGINEERING TASK FORCE and produced when a REQUEST FOR COMMENT has had valid comments incorporated in it. This draft is again distributed and further comments sought from interested parties. The document is quite close to a formal Internet standard, but has to be further transformed into a PROPOSED STANDARD, DRAFT STANDARD, and OFFICIAL STANDARD.
