Internet Society An umbrella group of organizations which was set up to oversee the growth of the Internet. It is responsible for the work of two further important working groups: the
INTERNET ARCHITECTURE BOARD and the
INTERNET ENGINEERING TASK FORCE. The former deals with open standards for the Internet, while the latter deals with short-term and operational issues.
