Digital Signature Standard

Digital Signature Standard A standard for DIGITAL SIGNATURES which has been developed by the US government, standardized as the DIGITAL SIGNATURE STANDARD and incorporated into a federal information processing standard. At its heart lies an algorithm known as the DIGITAL SIGNATURE ALGORITHM. The algorithm and standard are so closely bound up with each other that the terms ‘digital signature algorithm’ and ‘digital signature’ are used interchangeably.
