drag and drop

drag and drop A method of manipulating files on a graphical user interface by clicking and holding down the mouse button, moving the file to a new position on the screen, and releasing the mouse button. It is possible, for example, to move files between directories in this way or to copy files to a floppy disk or suitable CD. It is also possible to print files or process them by dropping them on an icon.
