Saraha

Saraha. A tantric adept (mahā-siddha), possibly from the region of present-day Orissa. The dates of his life are obscured by hagiographical fictions although he seems to have been active during the 9th century ce. He is a representative of Sahajayāna, an antinomian form of Buddhism, and transmitted his teachings in a characteristic style of song known as a doha, several of which survive in his name in the Apabhraṃśa language.
