Gauḍapāda

Gauḍapāda. According to tradition, the author of the kārikā or commentary Gauḍapādīyakārikā (also known as Āgama Śāstra, or Māṇḍūkyakārikā) on the Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad, and the teacher of Govindapāda, Śaṅkara's teacher. This commentary is the earliest extant work to set forth the basic teachings of Advaita Vedānta in systematic form.
