beak-head. Romanesque carving in the form of a series of animal-, bird-(bird's-head), or humanoid-heads with long pointed beaks (or tongues) curving around a lower roll-moulding, as in a church doorway. Heads with stumpier cone-like beaks are cats'-heads.
