Reichlin, Bruno (1941– ). Swiss architect, associated with the
Ticinese School and the
Tendenza. He practised from 1970 with
Fabio Reinhart (1942– ), and both men taught under
Rossi at the
Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (Confederate Technical High School), Zürich (1972–4). They designed the Casa Tonini, Torricella (1972–4), a variant on
Palladio's
Villa Capra, and built other villas, including the Casa Sartori, Riveo (1976–7), where
Classicism is stripped and bared to its most essential elemental forms. They have been distinguished exponents of
Rational architecture, or
Neo-Rationalism. In 1976
Marie-Claude Bétrix and
Eraldo Consolascio joined the partnership, and among their works is the Sferax Factory, Cortaillod (1978–81).
