Barry, Edward Middleton

Barry, Edward Middleton (1830–80). Son of Charles, Barry worked in the office of T. H. Wyatt before joining his father's office where he helped prepare drawings for the Palace of Westminster and Houses of Parliament. He was a competent architect, responsible for some opulent Victorian buildings, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (1857–8), the Floral Hall, Covent Garden (1857–8), and Charing Cross Station Hotel, London (1864). He completed the Palace of Westminster, the eclectic Halifax Town Hall (1859–62), and Basevi's Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (1870–5).
