District 225 considers teaching Hebrew language

Glenbrook District 225 is considering whether to add Hebrew among the lineup of foreign languages offered at its two campuses, a language that some parents have been requesting on and off for years.

District officials say they're looking into the potential costs and benefits of adding Hebrew to a curriculum which has offerings as varied as Russian and Japanese, but it won't be in place in time for students this fall. The study is now underway and will include a survey of student interest and an in-depth look at how the language would serve students, said Superintendent Mike Riggle.
