Bassoon Bonanza

Some vintage bassoons have been discovered in a forgotten corner of a basement in Waukegan Public School's district office. They are so old, nobody in the district remembers them. Now they may be restored and used to buy new instruments for the district.
These are not your average student-grade woodwinds. The pre-World War II-era bassoons are highly sought after by professional musicians. One of the instruments is a Heckel brand bassoon, which, if properly restored, could sell for more than $30,000. Two other bassoons were made by Puchner, another German company.
