Volcanos make for hot movies
|
Given that at least four volcanoes are acting up around the world, one might think the Earth is angry. A volcano on Omnak Island in the Aleutians was quite active last week, with ash shooting up to 6.5 miles in the air, according to the Alaska Volcano Observatory. The 3,500-foot volcano, called the Okmok Caldera, is six miles across and contains more than a dozen cones. It began exploding July 12.
