St. Margaret Mary teaches Polish heritage
|
Although Chicago boasts the largest Polish population outside of Krakow, large numbers of families are migrating to the suburbs. And many have landed in the Fox Valley.
As a testament to that migration, St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin hosts not only services in Polish, led by the Rev. Edward Staniukiewicz, who emigrated only four years ago, it also hosts a Polish school.
Principal Danuta Bialecka said classes are conducted on Friday evenings, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., for children from preschool through high school age.
