Alpacas? Don't get fleeced

raising alpacas. These are beautiful animals imported from Peru and make wonderful pets as well as provide soft, luxurious wool. According to members of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, the value of these animals has been increasing about 12 percent annually and, in addition to making wonderful pets (we have several hundred acres) their offspring would give us some attractive profits. Even the U.S. government agrees, because recent legislation allows us to deduct 100 percent of their costs. We're thinking of purchasing four alpacas.
