Cicadas make minor showing in Oak Park

For all the excitement of what was expected to be a mass influx of flying bugs, the lack of cicadas in Oak Park has left many residents wondering what all the hype was about.
The 17-year periodical cicada has made only a small debut for residents in Oak Park, unlike cicadas in River Forest, where the insects seem to be on any available tree they can find.
Outside of Trinity High School in River Forest, cicadas were everywhere - in bushes, on tree trunks and scattered all over the front walkway of the building.
