Alcuin to bid on school

Alcuin Montessori School in River Forest plans to bid on the Washington School site when the property is auctioned Dec. 4 by River Forest Public Schools.

After much discussion, Alcuin's board believes it can be a viable bidder for the property, Peg Dowling, Alcuin's administrative director, said in a statement issued this week.

District 90 has set a minimum bid of $700,000 for the approximately 1-acre parcel, where the building is situated. Alcuin has leased the building from District 90 since 1979.
