However, David Ideran, an addiction therapist at the Elgin center, said more and more clients report suffering from a new type of addiction - to the Internet.
"It's like any other addiction," Ideran said. "The amount of time spent with the Internet starts to distract from other areas of their lives, or it starts to cause problems. Someone might be addicted to pornography sites, or we've even seen people addicted to auction sites like eBay."
