Oxygen masks help pets breathe easier

Animal lovers throughout the area are helping equip fire rescue workers to give pets life-saving assitance.

Many area fire protection districts will now be equipped with special oxygen masks designed to fit the longer snouts of dogs and some cats. Attempts to use masks designed for humans to recussitate dogs and cats are not always successful because the masks fit poorly on the animals.
