Lent a time to reflect, say Christian leaders

Patience, commitment, a willingness to sacrifice and faith are some of the qualities a person must possess to observe Lent, according to area Christian religious leaders.

Lent may be seen by many as a time to simply give up a vice or pleasure for the 40 weekdays before Easter. But Lent is something much more important than that; it's a period to reflect on one's own life and an opportunity to look ahead and decide where to go, religious leaders say.
