Although Cole Porter didn't spend much time here beyond early childhood, Peru residents this weekend are quietly celebrating the 100th anniversary of the great American composer's birth. Banners announce the Cole Porter birthday bash this weekend, but you get the sense that Porter was never one of them, never a regular Joe.
