"Peregrine" means "wanderer," and that is a perfect name for the peregrine falcon. For the first 2 years of its life, a peregrine falcon roams where it will. Birds born in Indiana have turned up in New York State and Wisconsin; one of the falcons nesting in our area was born in Alabama.
