Flag flying etiquette for the flag's day

I consider myself very patriotic. One of the things I love about summer is that there are so many flag flying holidays.
While I typically write about house and neighborhood related matters, this is a little broader, but still appropriate. After all, America is also my home. We admire all the houses bedecked in greenery and holiday lights during the Christmas season. It is equally as spectacular to drive down the street on Independence Day and see house after house with that glorious red, white and blue banner rippling in the summer breeze.
