Davitt in, Tableriou out as candidates for board

One of the most vocal opponents of Naperville School District 203's February tax increase proposal is planning to run for a seat on the board of education. Michael Davitt, co-chairman of Naperville Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility, picked up nominating packets Monday and said he will complete the necessary steps to get his name on the April 1 ballot.

Among other things, Davitt said he believes the district needs to find a way to balance quality education with fiscal responsibility. He also thinks it is time for the board of education to have new members with diverse perspectives.
