Noodling around; Chicken supper a tasty tradition at Sharon United Methodist

Diane Pearson and Jim Alstott serve up one of eight pots of noodles that were made for the annual dinner at Sharon United Methodist Church in Plainfield.

The basement of the Sharon United Methodist Church was quickly reaching capacity. The draw: the 88th annual all-you-can-eat chicken and homemade noodle supper, an event dutifully held at the church on the Friday before Ash Wednesday by the Sharon Church Women.

A steady stream of hungry guests began filing into the church's basement fellowship hall about 4:30 p.m. last Friday, and didn't let up until the supper officially ended around 7 p.m.
