Whereas arachnophobia may have prevailed before, some third-graders at O'Plaine School have learned to appreciate spiders a little more. Well, they've at least gained some respect for the eight-legged creatures.

Spiders played a large part in the third-grade reading curriculum in October.

In Carole Wills' class, the students researched the arachnids and were then asked to make spiders out of any products they could find around their homes.

So in creating spiders that they would later present to the class, the youngsters employed various items, including chocolate chips, cupcakes, felt, ...
