AURORA -- For Dr. Marie-Claude Rigaud, that Hurricane Georges struck her homeland of Haiti on Tuesday is bad. But it's the silence that has followed she calls "terrible."

Although she has lived in the United States for almost 34 years, she still has family and friends in Haiti.

But she hasn't been able to contact anyone there since the storm hit the capital, Port-au- Prince.

In her effort to gather supplies, she can only speculate about what might be needed among people who had virtually nothing to begin with.
