Sheffer, 88, of Benton, Ky., formerly of Mounds, Ill., and Sandwich, Ill., passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 1997, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.
He was born Sept. 3, 1909, at Dongola, Ill., the son of James Wilford and Cora Belle (Keller) Sheffer.
He was married on Aug. 13, 1938, to Lois (Clifford).
Charlie was employed at E.L. Bruce in Cairo for 22 years and at Caterpillar Inc. in Aurora, Ill., for 16 years until retirement ...
