ST. CHARLES EVANS HEADING TO KANSAS

Tyler Evans decided to walk on to the football team at the University of Kansas. The St. Charles all-star quarterback chose the Jayhawks over Iowa, Illinois Wesleyan, Depauw and Bemidji State.

Evans' parents attended the Lawrence school where his father, Dale, the Glenbard North football coach played.

"I think it's just the kind of thing that was meant to happen," Evans said. "Kansas is a place I've always kind of wanted to go and it's a good situation for me to go into."

Evans led the Saints to a 9-0 regular season and to the state quarterfinals.

He completed 121-of-168 passes for 1,678 ...
