George M. Vogel Aurora
George M. Vogel, 91, of Aurora, formerly of Batavia and Marion, Ill., passed away peacefully early Monday evening, March 31, 1997, at Aurora Manor Nursing Center, where he had been a patient for the past six years.
He was born May 10, 1905, in Burlington Township, the son of George and Mary (Seisser) Vogel.
He grew up on the family farm, where he began working as a young man.
In 1947 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Duke in southern Illinois, where they made their home near Stone Fort. In 1953, they moved to Marion, where George worked as a welder for the ...
