"Peter" Campbell, 88, of Oswego, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

He was born Nov. 11, 1908 in Na-Au-Say Township, the son of the late James and Grace (Burnett) Campbell.

Mr. Campbell was engaged in farming in the Oswego area early on in life and later went on to work as an auxiliary engineer at the Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Company in Sandwich.

He was an avid reader, sportsman, wildlife enthusiast (he had gone on several safaris), an accomplished bridge player and a faithful father, grandfather and friend.
