Ann E. Parker was not the least bit interested in sun worship. "I did not believe in astrology," she said with candor.

"And I especially didn't like what they had to say about Scorpios at all.

Everything I read about Scorpios was so dark and depressing." (Parker is a sun sign Scorpio.)

At the time, Parker was working as a writer for the Chicago Tribune.

The year was 1969, and sun sign astrology was becoming popular.

Given an assignment to do a story, Parker finished with 20 pages on the subject. From then on, her interest in astrology grew more personal in nature.
