POPPY IS OUR PATRIOTIC PERENNIAL FLOWER

A unique flower blooms each spring. It's a poppy, but not the kind you find at the local nursery or greenhouse.

This flower has survived over the ages.

In fact, it has been on lapels for more than seven decades.

It's a symbol, but so much more.

The Easter lily and poinsettia each have special meaning, but the poppy is America's patriotic perennial.

You will be seeing lots of poppies today and Saturday.

This weekend we observe the annual Poppy Days.

The bright red flowers are our springtime friends.

They will be distributed throughout the area in a "Johnny Appleseed" approach.
