There are some mighty happy birds at Lake Renwick. You might drive by and see a smiling heron.

Or perhaps an egret will tip his wings in flight to acknowledge his gratitude.

The generous people of this area have again responded to help a needy cause.

The serenity of the Lake Renwick Heron Rookery was threatened by encroaching development.

A condominium project was planned near the rookery.

That's a common situation in this area as housing is springing up all over.

This project, however, concerned a citizens group called Friends of the Rookery.
