EASTER LIGHT SHINES ON DIFFERENT DAYS CELEBRATING TODAY: EASTERN ORTHODOX CATHOLICS BREAK FASTS

JOLIET -- Hundreds of people woke up early today to baskets of brightly colored Easter eggs and joyous services celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not an extreme case of what can happen when you don't set your clocks ahead.

The people breaking long Lenten fasts today with smiles and hugs and huge feasts are members of the Eastern Orthodox Catholic churches, which celebrate Easter and some other religious holidays apart from Roman Catholics and Protestants.
